Crock Pot Navy Bean Soup

Standard

This is what is making my house smell so good today!  It is an easy soup to put together and you can leave it simmering all day on low or half the day on high OR you could even skip the crockpot all together and just make it in the evening and warm it through on the stove.

I don’t remember where I got this recipe.  It has been around our menu for about five or so years now.  You could brown your sausage and saute the onion the night before and then throw it all together and put in the refrigerator.  Then before leaving for work or the day full of errands, simply put it in your crock pot and set it to low—-dinner will be ready when you get home.

Crock Pot Navy Bean Soup

Brown and saute:

  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 1 lb pork bulk sausage (drain the fat off too after browning)

Place into the slow cooker:

  • browned sausage
  • sauteed onion
  • 1 cup of chopped ham
  • 1 can of Ro-Tel
  • 4 cans of navy beans (don’t drain)
  • 3 cans of water
  • Salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste.

Cook on low heat all day or high heat for half of the day.
